I sincerely hope he plays the event in BA. Mostly for the fans. I can't imagine that he doesn't play there. As for Jaite's words, well, having Moya in the draw is a good thing for sure, but personally, that's the player I'd be interested in, not what Jaite assumes.......

Well, I finally could see that match, eurosport having changed the schedule. Gaston won the battle of ponytails while Marat was winning the match. He's been too good today. Hope he takes the title now.

Gaston beat Chucho in 3 sets and now plays di Mauro in the 3rd round. I decided to put all the South American guys in this thread except for the weasel, cause of that reason alone, he is a weasel.

I have to admit it's been a bit confusing at first, but I agree with the idea.

Some articles about the greatest Calleri performance, this is when he gave Ferrero a beatdown in Davis Cup 2003 in Malaga. sify.com/sports/tennis/fullstory.php?id=13257596Calleri stuns Ferrero in Davis Cup Sunday, 21 September , 2003, 18:25 Malaga (Spain): Agustin Calleri gave Argentina fresh hope of reaching the Davis Cup final here Sunday when he pulled off an upset 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 win over world No 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain. Calleri was brought into the singles action to replace Mariano Zabaleta after being overlooked Friday in the opening singles when Ferrero and Carlos Moya gave Spain what looked like a comfortable 2-0 lead. But he was instrumental Saturday when he and Lucas Arnold defeated Alex Corretja and Albert Costa in four sets in the doubles to keep the semi-final alive. Even so, the 27-year-old journeyman was given little chance of defeating Ferrero who rose to the top spot in the world this year by winning the French Open and reaching the US Open final. But he made his intentions clear by winning the first set against a nervous-looking Ferrero, the hero of Spain's Davis Cup triumph in 2000 against Australia. Ferrero, however, appeared to be taking control when he moved into a 5-3 lead in the second set as Calleri appeared to tire. But the South American saved five set points to hold and then, playing some unbelievable tennis, he won the next three games to take a two sets to nil lead. A crest-fallen Ferrero was helpless to stop the barrage of winners being blasted past him and a pumped-up Calleri quickly moved to a 4-0 lead in the third set. The Spaniard saved two further break points in the next game to pull back to 4-1, but there was no stopping Calleri as he won the next two games to pull off an unlikely win. The outcome of the semi-final will now depend on the second reverse singles opposing Moya and Gaston Gaudio. The winner will take on Australia in the final in Melbourne November 28-30. Australia defeated Switzerland 3-2 earlier Saturday. The Spaniards are aiming for a fourth appearance in the Davis Cup final after 2000 when they defeated Australia and in 1965 and 1967 when they lost to Australia on both occasions. Argentina have only once made the final in 1981 when they lost to the United States.
