btw aphex, Scott Niedermayer withdrew with injury and Forsberg is still thinking of playing Olympics although his boss said he really wants him to rest his groin injury. How about Rob? It really doesn't look good for Forsberg, he probably won't play. He'll wait with his final decision until the very last minue. Perhaps Nylander instead. So now you Canadians won't be able to injure him during the tournament. Rob is not on the team Canada has Jay Bouwmeester replace Niedermayer I'm a bit disappointed Phaneuf is not picked but this kid will definitely make the Olympic team in 2010.

Finally Flames managed a win vs NHL bottom dweller Blues.
And Phaneuf is just phenomenal scoring 2 goals including the game winning one. Like telling the managment in Team Canada it's your lost that you didn't pick me for Olympics.

Now it's looks as if Forsberg is going.

I'm watching the very last NHL game before the olympic break. Just hope it's not as bad as the last couple of games that I watched. Honestly, I can't wait to have the olympic break. The frustration for my team is building up pretty thick now I surely don't mind a 2 weeks break to calm a little.
I watched a little bit of that woman's game Canada vs Italy. Saying that it's target shooting is an understatement. I felt really bad for the Italian. Maybe they should have another prelim round and give the seeded team a bye or sth so team like the Italians don't have to face them. They said there's like 200 to 300 Italian woman hockey players, as compared to like 500K in Canada.
Talking about the olympics, I watched some of the opening ceremony. And I started worrying how my city will fair against the other olympic cities. Like the Italians showing off Ferrari and Pavarrotti, what do we have...Bombardier and Celine Dion ? Yucks... Gosh, it's only 4 years away, and nothing is yet in any form and shape that resembled what's promised. Pressure, pressure.

May be because it's quite hot here, in the mid to upper 70°F thus, nobody talked about Olympics. I hardly watch any. And talked about Canada vs Italy, the men side has the same fate as the women as they will face Canada in the opening game.

Finally Flames managed a win vs NHL bottom dweller Blues. Something that Canucks is yet to figure out how to do this season . I got an email the other day, they were selling some of those remaining single tickets at half price for the remaining Canucks/St. Louis game. Well, good luck at selling that. I surely won't be going. They were hopeless in that last 3 games against the Blues, what the hell is wrong with them.

I saw it on TV the other days, the Yotes' players were on some golf game and they were asked about the Gambling scandal thing. And it surely looks quite hot out there. Nice and sunny. It's just kinda weird. Although after non stop raining for like one and a half month here, we had some sun in the past week and it was quite warm today, it almost feels like summer is here (it's at 50s today). But I heard the cold weather is coming back next week, chances of snow, and not to mention, rain will be back soon, too soon. And then, the blizzard in the East. It's almost not fair that you guys are wearing shorts in Phoenix.

Vera, we have to live with our teams up and downs. At least, Canucks is still juggling the top place with Calgary, Colorado and Edmonton. Phoenix, IMO, is over. Again, I'm really really sorry about Gretzky. It's frustrating that all the news are around him, not the true culprits, Rick Tocchet, the NJ state trooper and even his wife. It seems the NJ law enforcement keeps leaking news around Gretzky so nobody talked about the state trooper, who should be the biggest culprit here.

AND January and February are supposed to be the rainy season here.

The good thing is, Blues is likely not making the playoff so neither Canucks nor Flames has to play vs the BLUES
