The Avs won't finish first, it seems. We got "bit" by the Sharks last night (very funny joke from yahoo sports. ) and decreased speed on Calgary's chase. We're 5 points down and only two ahead of Edmonton.. All the games left FLAMES vs Minnesota AT Vancouver vs Anaheim vs Colorado - Hoping for a loss here. AT Los Angeles AT Anaheim Balanced schedule, but they face Red Hot Anaheim twice (what the hell happened to Teemu?? Are we back to the 90s?? ). They should win 4 or 5 of those.. AVS vs Saint Louis vs Minnesota vs Phoenix AT Calgary AT Vancouver AT Edmonton The problem with the Avs schedule is having to play all the three conference partners on the road and in the three last dates. Sucks! We could win 4 or 5. I'd like to see Theodore before the playoffs... OILERS AT Minnesota AT Chicago AT Saint Louis AT Detroit vs Anaheim vs Colorado Tough games vs Detroit, Anaheim and Colorado. I'd think they win 3 games and no more. NUCKS vs Calgary vs Anaheim vs San Jose AT San Jose vs Colorado Very hard schedule.. Key games vs Calgary and Colorado. If they manage to win both, their chances of going to the playoffs increase a lot.

Considering my thoughts, I'll risk the final standings of our conference. Even at the high risk of being very wrong. hehe
1. Calgary 103 pts 2. Colorado 100 pts 3. Vancouver 93 pts 4. Edmonton 92 pts 5. Minnesota 81 pts

Avs next 3 opponents are easy pick, all are out of playoff pictures (although some are mathematically still in the race). Canucks have the toughest schedule, IMO.

Oilers are 2 points ahead and with one more game on hand. They will have to suck a lot worse to be behind the Nucks at the end. But I hope you are right.

The Nucks are killing me. Honestly, I don't think they will make the playoff. The way they've been playing . Well, let's put it this way, if we can win all the 5 remaining games, that's the only way we can be sure we'll be in. But, considering how badly we've been playing, I don't see that happening. On the bright side, if we don't make the post season, then I can finally stop whinning about how bad my team plays, then I can return to sanity a month or 2 ahead of schedule.

I'm so not looking forward to the next week when the next 5 games play. I rather jump ahead and find out whether we are in or out without having to watch in agony. Good thing tax deadline is coming. If there is one thing that will inflict more pain on me in the next 8 days than watching the Canucks play, I think having to file tax by the deadline will probably do it. My life sucks (at the moment at least).

Vera, hopefully Jovanovski's return will boost the team. Although the Nucks are against the Flames.
