The attitude seems to be they do anything to get the gold. It's the last chance to win something big internationally for the so called "Golden generation" of Swedish ice-hockey, Forsberg, Sundin, Lidström et al. I dont disagree, sometimes, you have to play the game strategically, so to speak . However, I would think the coach should have keep his month shut and not telling the world that his plan is to tank. That's just .

That's just . Well, at least it'll get the Swiss worked up. They're already upset, since the Sw. coach, Bengt-Åke Gustafsson, used to be assistant coach for Switzerland a couple of years back, and they think he disrespects them.

That's a no no, what if the Swiss strike back, we know what they are capable of. The Swedes better prepare well. The memory still fresh of how their last olympics ended .

Good luck for the Swedes. I really hope they will win the gold. Otherwise, the Finns. Don't know how bad was Markus injured. *sigh* The irony is Alex Ovechkin scored the game winning goal while Crosby is sitting at home watching hockey. Gretzky and the selection team will come under heavy fire, I have no doubt and I have no sympathy for them. So as the coaching staff. For the players, I'm pretty speechless. I don't know what's wrong. Can't say they don't have the hearts because I know most of them are very very proud to represent Canada. But there's no energy there! And it's the whole team lack the energy, so I more incline to put the fault on the coaches. All the opponents come up with a very good strategy against Canadians while there's no game plan at all for the Canadians (or there's game plan but not working or not carried out).

Great day for hockey. I don't care who wins it now as the 2 teams that I didn't want to win are eliminated.
The Swedes don't have to worry about Belarus now. The Russians are moody, the Finns and Czechs actually care to play for their country, whereas the others well this is subjective and they probably thought hey we are the Canada and we are the best, so we should win automatically.

So no Canada pay-back in this tournament for Sweden I guess first the Czechs for the World Cup 04 and then hopefully arch rival Finland in the final for Nagano 98 . Hopefully not Russia in the final. They look plain scary. And of course we'll reach the final ;D , the Czechs are easy prey. (jinx warning)

Weird Canada didn't score against Russia. From what I saw in the 3rd period, they had plenty of chances. So Canada didn't score in the last three matches?! And you guys were whining about the defense...
