The Swiss only perform well when they are underdogs and play on the counterattack mostly.

So Sweden gets the wish playing Switzerland.
It will be tough for Canada, facing the Russians.

So we didn't make it to the 2nd, . Now, I think we have the toughest opponent in the QF. Oh well. I started watching a bit of the 2nd and the 3rd period when I woke up this morning, and the Czechs was pounding on us. Good thing we got 3 goals catching up half asleep in the first period .

If you say so, Lee The Swedish coach actually put forth the idea of throwing the game against Slovakia as to get an easier opponent in the quarterfinals, ie Switzerland. That didn't go down very well amongst the Swedish public. And IIHF is sending official to the Sweden/Slovakia match to ENSURE the Swedes are not throwing the game So they lost 0-3 to the Slovaks, what's the verdict . But who can blame them for choosing the Swiss over the Canadian . It just the nature of any team to try hard to get the match up that they want, no? Lucky bastards . So the Swiss just turn back to a pumpkin, eh?

And a not very good one as well. at the Sw. TV4 reporter trying to get Mats Sundin to admit they tanked. If looks could kill... Sw. TV even had a poll running all through the match. The question was something like: Do you think the Swedish players are trying their best? 91% answered: no!

Well, good luck to the Canadians. I hope they play the way they should and expected so if we lose at the end, at least it would be a fun and exciting game to watch.

The attitude seems to be they do anything to get the gold. It's the last chance to win something big internationally for the so called "Golden generation" of Swedish ice-hockey, Forsberg, Sundin, Lidström et al. I still think it's weird Markus Näslund said no.

I still think it's weird Markus Näslund said no. Well, I can understand where you come from. But I watched Markus plays day in and day out, he just isn't himself bcos of the groin injury. It's not very often that you see him getting very frustrated during the game and threw some stupid penalties, but he did that pretty often in the past couple of months. He's frustrated that he wasn't able to catch up with the puck, and he can hardly score goals for a good 10-15 games. I know it's hard to convince the Swede fans. But just like Lee said, sometimes it's better to get someone healthy to play instead of getting an injuried one. Markus is running about 75% these days at most.
