And Sweden loses again. Apparently ToJo has some problems with a foot. Some mysterious infection which made it swell to the size of a football. Well done of him being the one producing points. 4 straight tiebreak wins.

A bug bite, according to T-X's sources. Which is why he may be out of the Aussie Open. Must've been some bug www.svd.se/dynamiskt/sport/did_11457986.aspThomas in trouble
A mysterios infection worries Thomas Johansson preparing for the AusO. -I've had a fever and my right foot swelled to the size of a football, the 30 year old östgöte says to SvD.It's the third time in his career he has suffered from a likewise ailment and then as well as now it happened after a long flight. -This time eating penicillin hasn't been good enough, so I've received shots the last couple of days, says Thomas who is in Perth, Australia, together with Sofia Arvidsson, to defend Sweden's colours in the Hopman Cup. What do the doctors say?-That it's a severe case of skin infection which can appear this way. Since I had a red streak going from my foot to my groin they thought it was blood-poisoning first. After three days in bed Thomas still decided to play the opening match against Serbia- Montenegro this Monday. -I played with a pulse-match the whole match, if I had to retire. In these circumstances you're worried about your heart, so I was taking it pretty slow. Linköping's son is number 13 on the worldrankings and he is Sweden's major hope in the first grand slam tournament which is held Jan 16 in Melbourne, where Thomas became Sweden's latest GS champion four years ago. The illnes will decrease his chances and comes at a point in time when he, at least temporarily, doesn't have any problems with the left foot he injured at Wimbledon last year. In the long run that injury is way more serious than the current illness. Thomas planned playing for another 4-5 years, but in worst case the injury will make him retire very much earlier. -To spare my foot I'll pick my tournaments carefully this year and I probably won't play much on clay. The doctors first thought surgery and four weeks of rest would be sufficient but they dicovered the injury was more serious and estimated an operation would keep Thomas off the tour for about six months something he wasn't prepared to do. Instead he will probably be forced to play using pain-killers. -I got in touch with an Italian doctor who has already helped me a lot and right now I don't have any problems with my left foot, says Thomas.
